1969 Porsche 912 Sunroof Coupe
Completed on May 5, 1969
Matching numbers per Kardex
Originally finished in Polo Red (6802) with a Brown (9822) leatherette interior and corduroy inserts. The options include 5-speed manual transmission, chrome wheels, rubber pads for front and rear bumper guards, electric sunroof, and tinted windows. Strain body with good gaps and panel fit. The interior is complete with original seats, door panels, door pockets, dash, carpets, Prototypo type steering wheel, and VDO gauges. The undercarriage is solid. Mechanically this 912 is not running and driving but the matching 1600cc engine (#4095960) has been run on an engine stand, a manual 5-speed transmission (#5192952) and four-wheel disc brakes with 14” Fuch alloy rims. Rare to find the last year 1969 912 with electric sunroof, a perfect restoration project.
History: As production of the 356-model concluded in late 1965, Porsche officially began production of the 912 Coupe. Styling, performance, quality construction, reliability, and price made the 912 a very attractive buy to both new and old customers, and it substantially outsold the 911 during the first few years of production. Porsche produced nearly 30,000 912 units.
