1960 Porsche 356B Super 90 Coupe

90 horse power, 1,582 cc OHV air-cooled horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine with dual 40 Solex carburetors, four-speed manual 741 transmission, independent front suspension with laminated torsion bars, parallel trailing arms, and tubular shock absorbers, independent rear swing axles with torsion bars and tubular shock absorbers, and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 82.7 in.

In late 1959 significant styling and technical refinements gave rise to the 356 B (a T5 body type). The mid-1962 356 B model was changed to the T6 body type (twin engine lid grilles, an external fuel filler in the right front wing/fender and a larger rear window in the coupé). The Porsche factory did not call attention to these quite visible changes with a different model designation. However, when the T6 got disc brakes, with no other visible alterations, they called it the model C, or the SC when it had the optional extra powerful engine.

The output of the engine is 89 bhp (90 PS/66 kW) of power at 5500 RPM and maximum torque of 121 N·m (89 lb·ft/12.3 kgm) at 4300 rpm. The claimed curb weight is 934 kg. / 2060 ibs
Maximum speed is 179 km/h (111 mph).

European Collectibles did an exquisite restoration on this 1960 SUPER 90 Coupe over a 24-month period from 2013 to 2015. During the restoration this 356 was completely disassembled so that every aspect could be properly addressed. Everything has been rebuilt including the 1600cc engine, 741 manual 4-speed transmission and drum brake system. Offered with tools, books and Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche confirming matching decks, doors and drive-line. Truly one of the best 1960 SUPER 90 Coupes that you will find with no issues. Opinions include: Hella 128 fog lights, GT mirror, headrests and clock. Everything has been restored; finished in a beautiful factory original color Light Ivory with Red. A true dream to drive!

Simply put, no important collection would be complete without a proper 356, as it is an equal in automotive design and history as the California Spider and 300 SL, but it further benefits from practicality and ease of use, which make it as perfect for running errands as handling twisty mountain roads. Motoring enthusiasts new to the classic car world are well served to acquire a “blue chip” Porsche such as this.
