It is rare to find a unique 356 with extensive history that has been restored to such a high level. No. 220576 is one of those examples with only three (3) owners, 69,849 original miles, and retains its original driveline as per the Certificate of Authenticity. It is finished in its original color combination of Signal Red (6407) with Black leatherette upholstery. Factory options include safety belts and Michelin tires.

The paintwork is in flawless condition, with excellent gaps and panel fit. The upholstery is in fantastic condition, with an original VDM steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, and original Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. Additional interior upgrades include the factory headrests and a discreet Apple phone cord to play music through the Blaupunkt radio from your iPhone. The date-coded, 4.5” x 15” painted KPZ wheels are mounted to Vredestein 165 HR 15 Sprint Classic tires. The undercarriage is well-preserved and the floor pan and battery box are solid and rust-free.

Originally delivered to Lt. Col. Bob Nobles by Stuttgart Import Corporation in Towson 4, Maryland on December 5, 1964. The Porsche service booklet documents that the dealer performed services from December 15, 1964, at 325 miles to May 17, 1968, at 24,000 miles. Lt. Col. Nobles retained every record from his first 3,000-mile service at Stuttgart Import Corp. In addition to Lt. Col. Noble's excellent record keeping, he took note of every gas fill-up in a booklet from 1964-1982, where he logged the date, mileage, amount of gas, and oil needed. Lt. Col. Nobles used this 356 as his daily driver until the mid-1970s when it received a paint job. But as time passed, it was driven less and less over the years and was finally put in storage in 1982.

The 356 was found 30 years later, in 2012, and was recognized as a barn find. It was then purchased by the second owner, a renowned and highly regarded Southern California-based Porsche collector. In 2016, the 356C was sold through Bonhams auction house to Classic Showcase, a marque restoration facility in Oceanside, California. Classic Showcase did a complete restoration on this 356C Coupe, the body was stripped to bare metal, metal finished, prepped, and painted in its original exterior color. An extensive photo-documented picture book was made as the 356 was found, during the restoration and post-restoration. After the 356 was restored, Classic Showcase sold it to the current owner.

On August 2, 2021, at 65,550 miles, over $19,000 was spent with European Motorsports, in Vista, California who perform the following work:

• Install Koni shocks
• Install new exhaust
• Top-end engine rebuild
• Install new Weber carburetors
• Install new flywheel, pressure plate, and clutch disc

On March 1, 2022, at 67,097 miles, Black Forest Automotive performed the following: front and rear alignment, replacement of axle boots, and the oil and filter were changed with a valve adjustment. On September 28, 2022, at 68,956 miles, Black Forest Automotive in San Diego, California, installed a new dual-stage master cylinder to improve the braking system, with new rotors, calipers, and brake pads. At the same time, new Vredestein Sprint Classic tires and a new Optima 6 Volt battery were installed.

It is mechanically powered by its matching 1600cc flat-four engine (Type 616/15) paired to the matching manual 4-speed transmission (Type 741) with the four-wheel four-wheel disc braking system. The 1.6L engine performs flawlessly with exceptional power, and the transmission easily shifts through all the gears. Complete with owner's manual, original service booklet, gas record booklet, a photo book of the restoration process, a photo book as the 356 was f found in 2012, spare wheel, tool kit, jack, and service history from 1964 to present. This is an incredibly rare opportunity to acquire a well-documented, beautifully restored 356C Coupe. Finished in its original color combination with the original driveline, and low documented miles.
