This 1968 Volkswagen Type 3 Fastback was sold new in Central California and remained there until it was purchased a year ago by a local Newport Beach collector who brought it home and oversaw a very thorough restoration. Since her purchase this Volkswagen received new dark blue paint, a new ivory interior and a full rebuild of the engine and most mechanical systems. The interior and engine compartment were lined with automotive insulation that really help this Fastback feel solid and reduces interior noise and vibration. This is a very attractive and well-sorted Volkswagen that was restored as a labor of love, not a pursuit of profit. The receipts on hand for the work performed exceed the asking price.
