1964 Porsche 356SC Coupe

This 1964 Porsche 356SC Coupe represents the final iteration of the 356 model line. The SC or Super Coupe was the high-performance version, featuring the most powerful push-rod type engine Porsche had produced to date. Single-family owned since 2006, with documentation dating from then through 2022, this SC Coupe has been well cared for, both cosmetically and mechanically. Refinished in 2007 by Rillos Restoration in Kent, Washington, in period-correct Champagne Yellow, the drive line of this Coupe was also rebuilt by Wolfsburg Motorwerks in Seattle, Washington, in 2007. This work included a complete engine rebuild with 40mm Weber IDF carburetors, rebuilt transmission and braking system, and electrical system. Foreign Affairs Service in Staunton, Virginia, handled all normally scheduled service from 2010 through 2019. European Collectibles recently completed a full inspection of the car including detailing the undercarriage and suspension components, as well as performing an engine tune-up and valve adjustment.

The pale yellow, classic 60's hue of this SC is complemented by 15” Bridgestone Potenza tires mounted on chrome wheels with colored Porsche crests, chrome luggage rack, chrome/rubber trim, chrome bumper guards, and twin chrome engine grills that allow improved engine cooling. The larger windshield and rear window of the 356SC provide greater visibility. An air intake vent on the cowl provides better ventilation.

Its black interior is highlighted by a striking three-spoke, wood-rimmed steering wheel, VDO gauges including a dash-mounted clock, and a Pioneer Audio System w/remote tucked into the glove box. The 356SC features an improved heater control that allows a mix of fresh air with heated air.

The 1.6 liter flat-six, air-cooled engine of this 356SC produces up to 95 HP at 5800 RPM and 88 lbs.-ft torque at 4200 RPM. Power is directed to the rear wheels through a 4-speed synchronized 741 manual transmission. Newly-developed in 1964, ATE disc brakes replaced older-styled drum brakes, providing greater stopping power.

The sale of this 1964 Porsche 356SC Coupe, located in California, will include a clear title, spare tire, and service records from 2006-2022.

European Collectibles is a full restoration and sales facility capable of metal fabrication and finishing, paint and body preparation, and all facets of mechanical rehabilitation. European Collectibles performs all restoration functions 'In House' to enhance efficiency and assure the highest quality control.
